What Our Friends Say
Thank you to all of our friends for allowing us to guide you in your path to music.
We are so thankful to have found Mrs. Alexis. Not surprisingly, she came highly recommended. Her calm demeanor lends itself well to piano instruction for young children. She has done an excellent job with my daughter. I am so pleased with all that she’s learned since beginning lessons with Mrs. Alexis. God has gifted her with extensive musical talent. It is apparent that she uses this talent for God’s glory.

Just a week ago, when Melanie was asked “Who has most inspired you to become who you are?”, she replied “Two people — my youth pastor for helping me want to get closer to God, and Mr. Josh, because I hated music before he came, and now I absolutely love all music”. She picks up every instrument she sees and tries to pluck something out on it, and is CONSTANTLY making me listen to music scores from movies, broadway, showtunes, opera singers, classical music, etc. She also still loves Christian rap, lol. You have given my kids a gift — the love of music — that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

My daughter started taking violin lessons from Josh a couple of years ago. I had a few reservations about her taking lessons due to the fact she has learning disabilities. Josh was very understanding and has worked with her even though it at times has been a challenge. Josh has been such a great teacher. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He has a passion for music and it shows. He has been patient with Destiny and when he sees that things are not working for her he takes a different approach.
Destiny had stage fright so bad. Josh worked with her to overcome her fear and get her use to playing in front of a group. Josh has also been very accommodating to schedules. He always tries to get a time that will work for us. He even takes time to schedule make up lessons when we are unable to attend regular lessons. When I had to move out of state, he agreed to provide lessons via skype. This has been such a blessing since there is no music teacher in my area. I was so glad he agreed to lessons over skype because he is such a great teacher that it would have been a tremendous loss. I highly recommend Josh as a music teacher. He is one of the best…

We have had Ms. Lexi teach us violin, father and daughter, for the last 2 years. I started my classes at age 40 and my daughter at 6. She has had a fair amount of success in teaching an old fart like me, to the extent both my daughter and I have played a few songs at our family reunions. Any one who has heard Ms. Lexi play knows she is a phenomenal violinist but only we students know how extraordinary a teacher she is. Kind, caring and constantly encouraging. She is the best.

My daughter started taking violin lessons with Alexis in early 2016. We were both brand new to the instrument so unsure what to expect. From the start, Alexis showed her so much support, patience and kindness. I am absolutely amazed at how much she has learned in just over a year. She looks forward to her lesson each week and I can’t wait to see her learn and grow even more.

A few months ago, I learned that my violin teacher, Mr. Joshua Rooks, had a new website, Musilesson.com. Of course I checked it out! That’s my teacher, right? I was really excited and proud that my teacher had spread his wings…in Cyberspace!!! Now, it’s not just me and the students here in Florida but people, young and old, all over the world will have the chance to learn from this very good and very talented musician. That’s amazing! That’s my teacher! I had been Joshua’s student for almost 6 years. I learned to play ( even memorized!) Books 1 to 3 of Suzuki. I had played and performed classical as well as contemporary music with various students and ensemble in recitals and concerts.
One of my most favorites and unforgettable performances was Carol of the Bells/ Trans Siberian Orchestra at a church concert (ACTs).Although he is my teacher in violin, he also encouraged me to join the choir at his church, Apostolic Christian Tabernacle (ACTs) and introduced me to the Citrus Community Concert Choir in which the latter gave me the opportunity to perform at the Carnegie Hall last February 2017 as part of the choir. How I wish I was there to play my violin! I guess, MORE practice, practice, practice! Now, my daughter who is not even 3 years of age is going to attempt musilesson. I am positive she is going to learn. Musilesson is easy to follow and what I call “user friendly ” and not just for beginners. It is a great tool if you want to do a review for the more advanced students. Thank you Teacher Josh for patiently teaching me how to play the violin and enjoy it as well. Now, it’s my daughter’s turn to learn…thru Musilesson… Indeed, Music is Magic!

Lexi is a talented Christian with a passion for teaching and sharing her love of music to children of all ages. Lexi has been teaching my 8-year old daughter piano for four months now. Her teaching methods are very enjoyable to her students. I would highly recommend Lexi to anyone wanting to give the gift of music to their children. We love and appreciate all that she does for our Olivia!
